My Disability

I live with Laing distal myopathy, a rare condition that affects my muscles and movement.

What this means for me

I use a walker to help me move around safely. I move more slowly than many people, so getting from one place to another can take me a little longer.

A little patience and extra time can make a real difference.

Important to know

My disability affects my muscles and movement. It does not affect how I think, understand or communicate.

Please speak directly to me and treat me as you would anyone else. If you think I might need assistance, asking first is always appreciated.
